Fireplace cleaning isn't the same as chimney sweeping. Sweeping cleans the flue. Fireplace cleaning handles the firebox, smoke chamber, damper, hearth, and — for gas — the burners, logs, and ignition system.
We clean and service all four major fireplace types on Long Island:
Wood-burning (masonry + metal)
- Firebox brushed and vacuumed
- Smoke chamber cleaned (parge coat inspected)
- Damper tested and cleaned
- Andirons and grate cleaned
- Hearth and surround vacuumed
- Level I inspection included
Gas (vented + vent-free)
- Burner assembly cleaned
- Ceramic logs cleaned and arranged properly
- Thermopile/thermocouple tested with multimeter
- Pilot assembly cleaned and tested
- Glass doors cleaned (gas inserts)
- Gas line leak test with combustible gas detector
- Carbon monoxide detector test
- NFI-certified technician
Pellet stove
- Burn pot and heat exchanger cleaned
- Ash pan emptied and cleaned

- Vent pipe sweep
- Gasket inspection
Fireplace inserts (wood or gas)
- Full unit removed for access when needed
- Firebox and heat exchanger cleaned
- Chimney liner (insert liner) swept
- Reinstall and re-seal
When to call us
- Annually for any fireplace used 10+ times a year
- Before first use of the season
- After a chimney fire (required Level II first)
- If pilot won't stay lit (gas)
- If flames are orange instead of blue (gas combustion issue)
- If glass is smoking up quickly (gas — combustion problem)
- If firebox has soot buildup (wood — possibly improper burning)
